How To Make Money With Google – The Truth

Everyone wants to make money. Right? Well people make money, and lots of it everyday on the Internet. One way to monetize your own personal websites and blogs is through advertising for other people on YOUR OWN websites and blogs. The ad to the left is a Google Adsense. Adsense Ads help  pay for the operation of this blog. Google has a program just for that purpose. It’s called Adsense. Anyone that has a Google account has probably at least heard of Adsense. If your don’t have a Google account you can get one here.

Personal sites can include your own unique url website, blogs, or just ezine articles that you publish with good relevant information that people would be interested in. Good content is key to any ad campaign.

How it’s done

In plain easy to understand terms I will describe the process.

The three elements you will need are an Adsense account through Google,, a web page to put your content on, and GOOD CONTENT. I can’t stress enough the importance of good content.

To get an Adsense account you need to have a Google account. Get one here
Then sign up for the Adsense account.. You must be approved and it takes a few weeks.

If you own a web page, blog, or website you already have a place for your content. If you don’t, you can get Blogger at Google . Blogger is  free blogging software  that you can create pages with. Blogging is nothing more than a web log of information.

If you prefer a more professional blogging platform such as WordPress you can get it here. The software installation is free with your paid hosting that you can get here.

Once you have your content written you can go into your Adsense account and and create your ads to place on your pages. When you are done with your ad type the html code will be generated. Insert the generated code into your pages and your done.

I Need a Blog Why?

Thanks for visiting. Please comment below.

Search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing love blogs. As the search result showplace evolves and real time search takes center stage, it has become more important than ever to have a repetitive online presence.

Search engines are constantly changing their algorithms to bring YOU – the searcher, the most relevant up-to-date information possible. As with social networking being a real-time format for information, so has blogging. A blog is nothing more than a web log (hence the name blog), of information pertaining to a specific subject.

Using a blog for SEO purposes can be very beneficial for both your readers and your search engine positioning. By offering well written, informative, and unique content to your readers, they benefit by having  the information they are looking for, and your search position benefits by having more traffic on your site. It’s a win win situation.

Effected By The June 2010 Pagerank Update?

What effect did the June 2010 Toolbar Page rank update have on your site? I have noticed one odd effect. Several of my sites have had no change in pagerank and also have more traffic but many of the pages that used to be cached are no longer cached.

I will be keeping a close eye on this and what long term effect, if may have if any it may have on the overall SEO in the SERPS. There may be absolutely no negative ramification but it could be a sign of something on my personal sites that could prove to be detremental in SEO of those sites.

I have not seen anything of this sort on any client sites as of yet. If you have had similar issues with sites we would like to hear about it.

Google Phasing Out IE6 Support

In an e Mail to all Google apps administrators Google has stated they will be phasing out support for IE6 in the near future.

HTML5 standards, faster JavaScript processing and JavaScript such as jQuery is not supported in the older browsers. Other browser manufacturers that have older browsers still supported will also not function properly with upgraded technology.

This DOES NOT mean IE6 will be phased out completely at this time. It does mean after March 1st -2010  certain apps in the Google apps suite such as Google Docs and Google Sites (Google’s site building software) will not work properly in IE6.

Please read the entire e Mail below.

Dear Google Apps admin,

In order to continue to improve our products and deliver more sophisticated features and performance, we are harnessing some of the latest improvements in web browser technology.  This includes faster JavaScript processing and new standards like HTML5.  As a result, over the course of 2010, we will be phasing out support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 as well as other older browsers that are not supported by their own manufacturers.

We plan to begin phasing out support of these older browsers on the Google Docs suite and the Google Sites editor on March 1, 2010.  After that point, certain functionality within these applications may have higher latency and may not work correctly in these older browsers. Later in 2010, we will start to phase out support for these browsers for Google Mail and Google Calendar.

Google Apps will continue to support Internet Explorer 7.0 and above, Firefox 3.0 and above, Google Chrome 4.0 and above, and Safari 3.0 and above.

Starting this week, users on these older browsers will see a message in Google Docs and the Google Sites editor explaining this change and asking them to upgrade their browser.  We will also alert you again closer to March 1 to remind you of this change.

In 2009, the Google Apps team delivered more than 100 improvements to enhance your product experience.  We are aiming to beat that in 2010 and continue to deliver the best and most innovative collaboration products for businesses.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

The Google Apps team

Is Page Load Time Critical For Web Site Optimization?

There has been a lot of talk about Google Search Engine and page load time.

Matt Cutts Google Fellow sets the record straight in this video dated February 01-2010.
What are your thoughts on this matter.

The relevance of content within your pages will always be the most important factor. According to Matt Cutts, Google uses over 200 triggers to determine the relevance of a page. If every factor where identical in 2 pages then page speed may be a factor in SO.

Google Using Rich Snippets In Search Results

Google has changed the SERP results on its pages to include bold text snippets of information on some results.

As you can see the answer is now in the search engine page result (SERO)

Search for: How large was the titanic

SERP:
WikiAnswers – How large was the titanic

Titanic question: How large was the titanic? The Titanic was 882 feet 8 inches long, 92 feet 6 inches in breadth. Her designed waterline was 34 feet,
wiki.answers.com/Q/How_large_was_the_titanicCachedSimilar

This could have an adverse effect on click through rates for a website unless the algorithms somehow count page views of the SERP as if it were clicked and the page actually visited. If people can get the information they are looking for in a snippet from the SERP then it may have an effect on what else they may find within that site if they actually had to open the page.

New – Breadcrumbs In Google Search Rsults

[ad#Google Adsense text horizonal]

As I follow the evolution of Google search results since their algorithm update, I have noticed a new search result.

If your site contains breadcrumbs – (the navigation system that tracks back the path in which the page you are on comes from) i.e. Home > Miscellaneous you may see these search results as additional links in your in Google search. I have recently noticed these results for the search dezinezone – (our company). In theory this could add to the number of linked pages a site will have.

This is evidence that properly structured web sites will get deeper search results than sites that are improperly structured. Read through the posts in our blog to get more information on SEO and some very important changes that are taking place in search engine algorithms.

Below is a screen shot of the search results for dezinezone on 01-21-0210

Google testing Social Search in search results

If you are one of the skeptical souls that don’t feel social networking is an important factor of search engine optimization (seo) then think again.  In October 2009 Google introduced testing of Social Search, a new experimental feature from the Google Lab.At this time the feature is op in but is definitly an item to keep an eye on.

The feature requires you have a Google account and are logged into your account while searching.  This feature uses your Google Profile and also looks at other social networking sites you have a profile on like Twitter or FriendFeed. So far this is definitely experimental but I believe this will soon become an option embedded in the search results. With that being said, social networking takes on a whole new future.
